Art. 42 - EXTRACURRICULAR EXAMS PURSUANT TO EX ART. 6 OF THE ROYAL DECREE NO. 1269/38

 

1.    Two courses per year. Those who are enrolled in bachelor's degrees, or master's degrees, in addition to the courses envisaged for the degree they are enrolled in, may enrol, for each academic year, in a maximum of two available courses, i.e. those included in the Academic Year 2024-2025, including those of other degree programmes of the same cycle and same academic system at Sapienza University. These exams do not count towards the number of ECTS required for obtaining the degree and do not contribute to the average grade but are only added to the student's career.

2.    Limitations:

a)    those enrolled in bachelor's degree programmes may take exams pursuant to ex Art. 6 provided for single-cycle degree programmes that are not scheduled in years subsequent to those in which the student is enrolled;

b)    under no circumstances may those enrolled in three-year bachelor's degrees be allowed to attend and sit for the exams for the courses of two-year master's degrees;

c)    it is forbidden for those enrolled in two-year Master's degrees to attend and sit exams of the courses of three-year bachelor's degrees and the exams of the first three years of the single-cycle degrees, unless authorised in advance by the competent educational bodies;

d)    The attendance and sitting of exams for courses delivered in distance learning are not permitted for those enrolled in degree programmes delivered in face-to-face learning;

e)    taking exams pursuant to Article 6 of Royal Decree no. 1269/38 must also take place in compliance with the rules laid down by the individual degree programmes, therefore - before submitting your application - you must check the programme regulations of your programme and of the programme on which the courses you intend to take the exams are taught.

3.    Credits (ECTS) to be acquired before extracurricular exams. The resolutions of the Academic Senate of November 30, 2010, and December 14, 2010, established that to sit exams pursuant to Art. 6 (the table is valid for bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and single-cycle degrees):

-      students enrolled in the 1st year must have acquired at least 6 credits in their degree programme (for some degree programmes, this number is increased to 18 credits);

-      students enrolled in the 2nd year must have acquired at least 36 credits in their degree programme;

-      students enrolled in the 3rd year must have acquired at least 72 credits in their degree programme;

-      students enrolled in the 4th year must have acquired at least 108 credits in their degree programme;

-      students enrolled in the 5th year must have acquired at least 144 credits in their degree programme.

Credits must have already been acquired when applying.

4.    For fuoricorso students. Students enrolled fuoricorso may sit exams pursuant to ex Art. 6 provided that they have acquired the ECTS envisaged for the last year of enrolment as regular students, based on the duration envisaged for their degree programme, as specified in paragraph 3 above (e.g. a student on a bachelor's degree must have acquired at least 72 ECTS, a student on a master's degree at least 36 ECTS, etc.).

5.    How and when to submit the application. The application can be submitted only after having acquired the credits indicated in paragraph 3 by means of a ticket addressed to your own student affairs office by connecting to the link tts.uniroma1.it/otrs/customer.pl and filling in the form in the "Exams pursuant to art. 6" (Exams pursuant to art. 6) service. Before submitting the application, it is necessary to contact the educational affairs office of the programme in which you wish to sit the Art. 6 exam(s) in order to request the name and code of the course(s) to obtain any prior authorisation and to be informed of any specific arrangements for the organisation of attendance. Before submitting your application it is also necessary to check on Infostud that your valid identity document has been uploaded (section "Profile>Personal documents").

6.    Information Notice for programmes in Medicine and Surgery and for the programme in Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics. Those who intend to apply for courses relating to the single-cycle degrees in Medicine and Surgery or Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics, in addition to applying to the relevant Student Affairs Office, must also contact the Student Affairs Office of the degree programme to which the courses they intend to attend and for which they intend to sit the exams relate, in order to be included in the list of attending students. After transferring to Medicine and Surgery or Dentistry and Dental Prosthetics (after passing the admission test), it is no longer possible to take advantage of the make-up sessions of the previous academic year in order to sit any exams under Art. 6 that may have been missed.

7.    Note for degree programmes in the Health Professions. The practical training and clinical internship activity characterising the individual health profession is to be considered excluded from the calculation of exams available pursuant to Article 6.
