The Department of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology has organized a new international PhD Programme entitled "Molecular Design and Characterization for the Promotion of Health and Well-being: from drugs to foods."

The new PhD Programme will bring together three universities: Sapienza University of Rome, the University of Hong Kong and the McMaster University in Canada. The programme will focus on interdisciplinary research on the development of innovative drugs and foods with elevated nutritional properties, with an emphasis on chemical and technological aspects. The programme will allow doctoral students to acquire knowledge and competences that will help the discovery and development of new drugs and foods with elevated nutritional properties, as well as to conduct high-level basic research in pharmaceutical science and food science.

Each doctoral student will develop a doctoral thesis at two of the three universities, selected upon application (one home and one host university). Students will have to conduct research activities at the host university for at least six months.
