The collaboration between Sapienza and Zuel has its roots in the study of Roman law and has gradually expanded to encompass numerous academic disciplines, ranging from law and economics to cognitive forensic science, innovation management and applied computer science.

Over the years, degree programmes and joint programmes involving lecturers and students from both universities have been established. From the next academic year, the range of courses on offer will be further strengthened with the launch of new dual-degree programmes in Economics and Finance and Macroeconomics and Finance; the joint programmes will involve over a thousand Chinese students and around a hundred Sapienza lecturers, confirming Wuhan as one of Sapienza's main international hubs.

During the official visit, the Sapienza delegation also met with students at the Shouyi International Campus. Addressing them, the Rector underscored the importance of education, international cooperation, and the responsibility of younger generations in shaping the future.
