The Erasmus Mundus Joint Programme in Architecture Landscape Archaeology (EMJMD ALA) is a 2nd-level Professional Master Course (please note: this is not a Masters Degree) that will be offered starting in 2019-20. Sapienza is the lead partner in a consortium with four universities: Sapienza, National Technical University of Athens, Universidade de Coimbra, “Federico II” University of Naples).

The European Union has provided funding for 69 scholarships, over two cycles, for both European and Non-European students. This is a programme of excellence, one of the ca. 100 that are actively funded by the EU. Thirty-three of these programmes involve consortiums with Italian universities and, in nine cases, the Italian university is the lead partner.

The interdisciplinary programme in architecture, landscape and archaeology aims to promote archaeological sites. The three partner countries - Italy, Greece, Portugal - represent academic and professional excellence in the fields of architecture, landscape and archaeology both at the European and global level. The course includes advanced education and a traineeship in one of three countries in the heritage and archaeology sectors. The aim is to transfer knowledge and practical know-how to promote innovative cooperation among different professions.

The course, which is held in English, is coordinated by Prof. Alessandra Capuano
