1 million euro for over 650 scholarships for Sapienza students
Sapienza students will benefit from more than 650 scholarships of 1,500 euros each, for a total of about 1,000,000 euros, financed by the Rome Technopole Foundation for projects in line with the themes of the innovation ecosystem. Sapienza's governing bodies have recently decided on the allocation of the amount and the way in which the scholarships will be paid out.
The call for applications is open to students enrolled in the 2024-2025 academic year on Master's degree or Single-cycle Master's degree programmes. Innovative elements of the initiative, which are also decisive for the awarding of the scholarship, are the presentation of a project and the performance of a dedicated course to be carried out, in the Master's degree programme in question, under the guidance of a tutor and in collaboration with a company or third-party body, a stakeholder of the Rome Technopole Foundation. The consistency of the project presented will be validated by a Sapienza Committee.
Antonella Polimeni, Rector of Sapienza University and President of the Rome Technopole Foundation, said: "This initiative aims to promote interaction between students and the world of work, giving them the opportunity to gain experience that will enhance their employability at the end of their university careers".
Each Faculty will publish its call for application, starting from the thematic areas defined by Sapienza, in line with the course learning outcomes and on the basis of the collaborations established with companies and third party organisations, Rome Technopole's stakeholders.
The criteria for awarding the scholarships will be based on income, merit and the presentation of a project in line with the 8 flagship projects of the Rome Technopole Plan.
The study programme will support the student by providing the necessary continuous guidance to maintain the regularity of their university course.
