Agreement with Sapienza University renewed for UNESCO Chair
The agreement between UNESCO and Sapienza for the Chair of Education and Research for Improved Urban Health and Wellbeing in Cities, initially established in 2022 and led by Andrea Lenzi, professor in the Department of Experimental Medicine, has been renewed until the end of 2029.
The chair aims to promote an integrated system of research, training and information on the topic of urban health and wellbeing. It aims to provide support to universities in studying and monitoring the wellbeing factors that contribute to the construction of healthy cities, raise awareness among children on the topic through educational programmes and tools in schools, promote integration between national and international policies and programmes concerning health and wellbeing, and to establish cooperative relationships with UNESCO and its chairs in the implementation of projects and activities.
On Wednesday, November 26, in the Rectorate building's Aula Organi collegiali, the Network of Italian UNESCO Chairs (ReCUI) is promoting a meeting dedicated to the role of education, research and culture in peacebuilding, in light of the new UNESCO Recommendation on education for peace, human rights and sustainable development.
The initiative brings together UNESCO Chairs operating in Italy, including those at Sapienza University, to define a joint contribution to strengthening the culture of peace in our country.
