On Thursday, March 18, 2021, the General Assembly of the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI) appointed Rectress Antonella Polimeni as coordinator of the Gender Equality Committee.

The committee, set up in 2018, aims to disseminate actions and interventions to promote gender equality in all university system areas, with working groups dedicated to exploring crucial issues such as gender-inclusive language, gender equality in STEM fields, and combating gender-based violence.

Antonella Polimeni succeeds Aurelia Sole, former Rector of the University of Basilicata.
