Dtc Lazio chosen for the new European Bauhaus

Dtc Lazio has been selected as one of the four organisations to participate in the first public event organised by the European Parliament for the new Bauhaus, the EU project that aims to combine the fight against climate change with design and art. It is a creative and interdisciplinary project that brings together, in a collaborative platform, architects, artists, students, scientists, engineers, designers and anyone who wants to bring the European Green Deal closer to citizens, putting recycling, renewable energy and biodiversity at the centre of everyday life. Like the historic Bauhaus movement that spread around the world from Weimar, the new European Bauhaus is envisioned to be more than just a school of architecture using new technologies and techniques, demonstrating that beauty, style and sustainability go hand in hand.

In the next two years, the five initial European Bauhaus projects will be created in different EU countries, and they will be sustainability-oriented, each with a different nuance. Themes will range from natural building materials to energy efficiency, from demography to future-oriented mobility or resource-efficient digital innovation, but always in combination with culture and art.

The Dtc Lazio is a centre for the aggregation and integration of technical skills applicable to the conservation, enhancement and promotion of the historical, artistic and cultural heritage of the Lazio region, set up with the support of the Lazio Region, the Ministry of Education, University and Research and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism.

Dtc Lazio aims to:

  • connect and enhance the research, training and technology transfer skills existing in the network formed by the founding partners (five state universities and three major research bodies);
  • create and supportequalification and specialisation projects for students and professionals through training and advanced training activities;
  • participate in the growth of the entire regional technology industry for cultural heritage and activities and contribute to the creation of a regional centre of excellence at the European and international level;
  • support the networking processes of technical-scientific, entrepreneurial and institutional resources by improving the overall effectiveness of investments in the field.
