“Gian Piero Orsello” Award 2019 at the Santa Severa Castle

On Saturday, September 7, the Castle of Santa Severa hosted the “Gian Piero Orsello” Awards Ceremony dedicated to an illustrious Sapienza professor. Sapienza scholars and graduates amongst the winners

On Saturday, September 7, the Castle of Santa Severa hosted the “Gian Piero Orsello” Awards Ceremony dedicated to an illustrious Professor of Public and EU Law at the Sapienza Faculty of Communications.

The Award Scientific Committee includes Sapienza Rector Eugenio Gaudio, Unitelma Rector Antonello Biagini and Sapienza Communications Councillor Mario Morcellini, Dean of the Faculty in which Gian Piero Orsello taught. The event has the patronage of the Fondazione Sapienza.

Awards were presented to various scholars at our university: Emilio Gentile, Professor Emeritus of Contemporary History at the Department of Political Sciences; Pier Carlo Padoan at the Department of Economics and Law; Maria Pia Di Nonno, a young PhD studying the History of Europe and whose dissertation was published and received awards. An award was also presented to Fabrizio Desideri, who is teaching in Florence, but earned his degree in Humanities at Sapienza University. 

Other Sapienza graduates include Paolo Gentiloni (Political Sciences) who has recently been appointed as European Commissioner, Prefect Marco Valentini and journalist and TV host Giorgio Zanchini (Law), TV host Diego Bianchi (Political Sciences), editorialist Dino Pesole (Humanities) and Federica Angeli (Sociology).
