Sapienza visited its archaeological mission in Jerusalem
Rector Antonella Polimeni visited Sapienza's archaeological mission at the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem on the first anniversary of the start of excavation work entrusted to the Department of Ancient World Studies.
Lecturer Francesca Romana Stasolla is in charge of the Sapienza team's activities; the mission was commissioned in 2019 to conduct for the first time a systematic survey of one of the holiest sites of Christianity, with a very high historical and symbolic value and a very intense archaeological stratification, linking Middle East and West.
