A new Sapienza study room dedicated to Marta Russo
On Thursday, November 17, on International Students' Day, a new study room dedicated to Marta Russo, the student who was killed in 1997, was inaugurated
On Thursday, November 17, 2022, the Marta Russo Study Room was inaugurated; this refurbished space, rescued from a past of non-appropriate uses, has finally been returned to the student community.
On International Students' Day, Sapienza celebrated the right to education and the right of students to express themselves by giving back to the student community a new study space, built according to the same architectural model already applied in the redevelopment of the Chemistry Building's study room, inaugurated on October 17.
The new room has been named after Marta Russo, the 22-year-old law student killed on the Main Campus on May 9, 1997. Such decision, on International Students' Day, has a powerful symbolic value and aims to remind us that the student community is at the heart of the University's daily life.
The Marta Russo Study Room is accessible to the entire student community and equipped with digital devices.
