Participate in the 20^thedition of the “Race for the Cure” will be held on Thursday to Sunday, May 16-19 at the Circo Massimo and join the Sapienza Team!

You can still join the official Sapienza Team organised by the Sapienza Sports Centre. All you need to do is send an e-mail to Sports Manager Alessandro Scotto di Palumbo: manager.sportivo@uniroma1.it.  

Besides the main Sapienza Team, there will also be two other Sapienza Faculty Teams organised by students: the "Med Odonto" Team (Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry) and the SPSC Running Team (Faculty of Political Science, Sociology and Communications).

The “Race for the Cure” is dedicated to sports and well-being with a 5k run and a 2k walk that are held annually to raise public awareness on the importance of prevention, raise funds for new projects addressing breast tumours and express solidarity to all women who have faced the illness.

The initiative is promoted by Susan G. Komen Italia, an international non-profit volunteer organisation active since 2000 in the prevention and fight against breast tumours throughout Italy. Since 200, the “Race for the Cure” has collected nearly 4 million euro and started over 436 projects, even with other associations operating in the same area. These projects include professional updating courses for health workers, prevention education programme for women and students, clinical services for the physical and mental well-being of women who have undergone surgery and purchase of devices for the diagnosis and cure of breast neoplasias.
