Richard Stallman meets with students

The founder of the Free Software Foundation and leading developer of the GNU operating system meets students as part of the Distinguished Lectures series

On Monday, October 13, at 4 PM, the Main Campus' Aula Magna will be hosting Richard Stallman, founder of the Free Software Foundation and pioneer of free software, for a meeting as part of the Distinguished Lectures series. The meeting has been organised by the Student Representatives in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and is promoted and supported by Sapienza.

Stallman will give a lecture entitled ‘Free/Libre software and freedom in the digital society’, during which he will explore the importance of free software in today's digital society. This is a unique opportunity to explore fundamental issues concerning freedom and access to technology for the entire community. The meeting will be opened by greetings from Rector Antonella Polimeni, Professor Leonardo Querzoni, Deputy Rector for Digital Technologies and Cybersecurity, and representatives of the students and the Department.
