Sapienza joins Rome Call for AI Ethics: an ethical approach to Artificial Intelligence

On Friday, October 30, 2020, Rector Eugenio Gaudio will officially formalise the participation of Sapienza in the "Rome Call for AI Ethics" in the presence of Monsignor Vincenzo Paglia, President of the Pontifical Academy for Life

On Friday, October 30, 2020, at 11:00 am, in the "Sala del Senato", Rectorate Building, Rector Eugenio Gaudio will officially formalise the participation of Sapienza in the "Rome Call for AI Ethics" in the presence of Monsignor Vincenzo Paglia, President of the Pontifical Academy for Life.

The event will be live-streamed. The opening is entrusted to Professor Teodoro Valente, Deputy Rector for Research, Innovation and Technology Transfer of Sapienza, followed by an introduction by Don Andrea Ciucci for the Pontifical Academy for Life. Alessandro Mei, Director of the Department of Computer Science and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Department of Sapienza; Paolo Benanti, corresponding member of the Pontifical Academy for Life and lecturer at the Gregorian University; Mario Morcellini, Councillor for Communication of Sapienza and former AgCom Councillor.

The "Rome Call for AI Ethics" promotes the use of Artificial Intelligence based on the principles of transparency, inclusion, accountability, impartiality and integrity, security and privacy. The Call, promoted by the Pontifical Academy for Life and presented on February 28, 2020, had as first signatories the President of Microsoft Brad Smith, the Vice President of IBM John Kelly III, the Director-General of Fao Qu Dongju and the Minister for Innovation of the Italian Government Paola Pisano.
