Sapienza University mourns the absurd death of Francesco Ginese, the young man who was seriously injured on Friday night. The university wishes to express its solidarity and ideally embrace the family that has lost such a brilliant and promising son.

It is very saddening that notwithstanding the repeated warnings, police reports and bans against risky and dangerous activities, such a serious accident has occurred.

The university also wishes to thank all the medical personnel at the “Umberto I” University Hospital who did everything possible to save this young man’s life with two difficult surgical operations.
