On Thursday, May 23, at the Congress Center in Via Salaria, the Prix Italia 2019 project will be presented. It is the prestigious Rai competition dedicated to broadcasters from around the world, which sees the participation of Sapienza at the 71st edition.Mario Morcellini, Communications Advisor, will open the works; for Rai there will be Karina Laterza, general secretary of the Prix Italia, Antonella Gaetani and Nadia Kerwat. Mihaela Gavrila, from the department of Communication and social research, will moderate the work as Sapienza referent of the project.

The Prix, made every year since 1948 without interruption, represents an important international event for the discussion between professionals in the broadcasting sector, in-depth analysis of programme quality and analysis of the world of media and current affairs. This year the event will be held in Rome from the 23 to 28 of September and will focus on cultural diversity. In the context of this event there will be workshops, conferences and the Young Laboratory - YLab educational platform, aimed at young university students from Roman universities. The students involved in the project will have to make a 90 second video or a radio promo to convey to the guests of the event, coming from every continent, the image of the city of Rome and of the territory from the point of view of young people, with the goal of bringing out the multitude of faces and realities that make up the complexity and charm of the Eternal City.

In addition to the production of audio-video materials, YLab also provides the possibility for students to collaborate in various forms at the event, contributing to the live Prix story through social media coordinated by the Rai Tutor within the YLab newsroom, or by supporting the work staff in juries and in activities with international guests.
