ReStart4Smart, the domotics project designed by a Sapienza Students Team is on its way. The team has been working in Dubai to build the sustainable domotics house which will participate in the Solar Decathlon Middle East 2018
The Sapienza team that participates with the ReStart4Smart project at the international sustainable architecture olympics Solar Decathlon Middle East 2018 has begun working on the assembly of the Solar House which will represent the University in Dubai, where the exhibition of the finalist projects and the awarding of the winning project will be held on November 28th.
The team, led by Marco Casini, professor of technological engineering at the Department of Architecture, will work divided into two shifts, from 7 to 23, to build the house, eco-friendly and domotics, entirely designed by students and pre-assembled in Pomezia. Construction site operations will end on November 12th. The 160 square meter house, made entirely of recycled wood, has a living area of 32 square meters, two bedrooms and a large bathroom, a guest bathroom, a kitchen complete with smart appliances. "The entire structure is equipped with an innovative home automation system and the house has a system of thirty two photovoltaic panels that produce more than twice the energy needs of the house" - explains Marco Casini.

The competition has been very challenging up to now for all the teams involved, to the point that only 15 groups out of the 22 initially registered will compete in the final phase in Dubai. The Sapienza team is the only Italian group left in the race and will therefore represent not only the University, but also Italy in front of the jury of international experts who will evaluate the achievements.
Representatives of the institutions, the Italian embassy in Dubai and the European summits of the numerous partner companies will attend the opening event on November 14th.

ReStart4Smart participated with its stand at the Maker Faire 2018 receiving much appreciation among the thousands of visitors to the event.
Project developments can be tracked in real time on the ReStart4Smart website and social networks.
