Matteo Mondini, Elisa Iltchev, Sunshine Maliglig and Lorenzo Marucci, Sapienza students enrolled in the SapienzaSport athletics course, took part in the fifth stage of the Olympic Torch, in view of the Universiade 2019 which will take place from 3 to 14 July in Naples and in Campania.

The torch of the Universiade Napoli 2019, symbol of peace, union and brotherhood, was blessed in St. Peter's Square by the Pope. The torch, after leaving the Vatican City, along the Ponte dell'Angelo arrived in via della Conciliazione at the Italian Sports Center. A journey of 1.4 km with sports champions such as Massimiliano Rosolino and Davide Tizzano and students from the Roman universities, who took turns carrying the torch in pairs. The Rome stage ended with the meeting at the CONI headquarters, with the participation of the president Giovanni Malagò.
