Sapienza team qualifies for Jessup Competition in Washington
A team of students from Sapienza's Faculty of Law participated in the national rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, the most prestigious moot court competition dedicated to international law, in which more than 550 law faculties from about 80 countries participate every year. The competition simulates proceedings before the International Court of Justice on an international law dispute and includes a first national round, which took place in Bologna from February 5 to 8, and a second international round, which will take place in Washington from March 29 to April 5.
The team comprising students Claudia Antonini, Carla Bongiovanni, Flaminia Cardinali, Flaminia Cesaretti, Sofia Esposito, Simone Fubelli, Ludovica Galterio, Sara Longhi, Michele Purgatori and Vincenzo Langella, coordinated by Alessandra Gianelli, lecturer in International Law, and with the support of researchers Giulio Fedele and Mattia Mozzaglia, qualified as finalists for the International rounds in Washington. This is the first time that Sapienza has qualified for the international round of the Jessup competition in just four years of participation, and it is also the only Roman university to do so this year.
