Sapienza University and the Italian Army Logistics Command Sign Agreement
On Wednesday, July 3, 2019, Sapienza Rector Eugenio Gaudio and the Army Logistics Commander, General Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, signed an agreement in the Academic Senate Hall that will further extend the synergies between civil and military health services and the world of academia.
In particular, the agreement inserts the Rome “Celio” Military General Hospital in the network of Sapienza specialization schools, promoting an active collaboration between military medics and university professionals.
In thanking all the subjects involved in the signature of this important agreement, Rector Gaudio emphasized how the “Celio” Military General Hospital represents a national resource with which Sapienza University has been collaborating for some time. The agreement represents a new stimulus for reciprocal growth both as an opportunity for the young men and women who will collaborate and learn in the hospital’s facilities and as a way to drive synergies between civil and military health services, which is one of the reasons for the opening of the military hospital to all citizens.
In his address, the Logistics Commander underlined how the process underway to improve the organization and efficiency of health services is not only an example of virtuous cooperation between ministries and agencies, but also a key drive to improve military health services and extend their breadth, especially in contexts of strategic operational value. The agreement paves the road to improve a number of key specialisations in various operational contexts where military health services are present.
Personalities present at the ceremony included the Deputy Chief of Defense Staff, General Francesco Luigi De Leverano, former Army Logistics Commander; General Danilo Errico, former Army Chief of Staff; the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Antonella Polimeni; the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Medicine, Carlo Della Rocca; and the Director General of Sapienza University, Simona Ranalli.
