Sapienza for World Ovarian Cancer Day

Sapienza joins the "Mi illumino di tiffany" initiative promoted by the Ovarian Cancer Association to mark World Ovarian Cancer Day

On Thursday, May 8, to mark World Ovarian Cancer Day, Sapienza will be glowing in Tiffany green, thanks to the "Mi illumino di tiffany" initiative promoted by Alto, Associazione lotta al tumore ovarico.
This symbolic gesture is part of a wider action that will see monuments, squares and cultural sites throughout Italy lit up to raise public awareness of a disease that counts around 6,000 new diagnoses every year, with 70% of cases diagnosed at an advanced stage.

In addition to the Sapienza University, other iconic places such as the temples of Paestum, the Massimo Theatre in Palermo, Lanfranchi Palace in Matera and monuments in Udine and Sassari have also joined the initiative to break the silence on this often underestimated disease.
"Cure all, no one excluded" is the slogan of the campaign, which highlights the urgency of guaranteeing equal access to treatment and supporting scientific research.
The Tiffany green lighting is designed to shine a spotlight on a fight that affects the entire community.
