Sapienza's centre for victims of violence: opening ceremony

The centre, hosted in the premises of Sapienza's Faculty of Medicine and Psychology, will be inaugurated by Rector Antonella Polimeni, the President of the Lazio Region Nicola Zingaretti and President of Telefono rosa Maria Gabriella Carnieri Moscatelli

On Wednesday, July 27, at 10.00 am the Centro Antiviolenza (CAV) will be inaugurated at Sapienza’s Faculty of Medicine and Psychology in the San Lorenzo district. The centre is promoted by Sapienza, Lazio Region, DiSCo Ente regionale per il diritto allo studio and Telefono Rosa.

Thanks to Sapienza’s multidisciplinary skills and expertise it will offer free legal and psychological support and social mediation services for victims or potential victims of all forms of gender-based violence and will be open not only to the Sapienza community but to all citizens.

The new structure reinforces and confirms Sapienza’s ongoing commitment to the matter. In addition to the existing bodies in charge of protecting the rights of students and staff, Sapienza established a Scientific Technical Committee on Diversity and Inclusion, a working team behind the preparation of the Sapienza Gender Equality Plan 2022-2024, and a Confidential Counsellor to actively assist the victims of sexual harassment.
