
Startup project selected among Horizon Europe 2021-2027 winners
The project Sustainable transitions. Action research and training in urban perspective - Startup - coordinated by Rossana Galdini of the Department of Social and Economic Sciences - has been selected among the winning projects within the Horizon Europe 2021-2027 work programme 2023-2024.
Sapienza is the project leader, which includes 16 partners from 8 European countries: Italy, Sweden, Slovakia, France, Spain, Poland, Germany and Belgium. The consortium includes 6 European universities, in addition to Sapienza, such as the Stockholms Universitet, the Slovenska Technicka Univerzita V Bratislave, the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Strasbourg, the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, the Universidad Pablo de Olavide de Sevilla and the Uniwersytet Gdanski, two research centres, the ILS Research in Dortmund and the KEA European Affair in Brussels, and seven 7 cultural associations.
Startup is based on a simultaneous programme of research and action aimed at promoting a transformative process. The project highlights the crucial role of cultural heritage and cultural and creative industries in socio-economic recovery and their potential to drive the transition to a beautiful, inclusive and sustainable environment. Beauty, sustainability and inclusion are principles at the heart of the New European Bauhaus, which aims to engage citizens, institutions and creative people as change agents for a better future.
