Sustainability Science course in Italian: Cultural, Ecological and Digital Transition
Registration is now open for the course, in Italian, "Scienze della sostenibilità: la transizione culturale, ecologica e digitale" (Sustainability Sciences: cultural, ecological and digital transition), free of charge for all Sapienza students.
The learning outcomes analyse the concept of sustainability according to a precise cross-disciplinary strategy involving education, individual and collective behaviour, food, health and individual rights, communities, natural resources, cities, work, business, innovation, territory, and institutions. The course, also through the social sciences and science-technology sectors, takes a cross-disciplinary look at the "Do No Significant Harm" (DNSH) principle, meaning "do not cause significant harm to the environment", a fundamental element of the NRRP that for the next five years will allocate 204 billion euros to Italy to overcome the epidemic crisis and relaunch sustainable development. Among others, the course will address the following topics: climate change mitigation; climate change adaptation; sustainable use and protection of water and marine resources; transition to a circular economy; prevention and reduction of pollution; and conservation and restoration of biodiversity and ecosystems.
Tuition fee: free of charge for Sapienza students; 300 euros for those not enrolled at Sapienza.
CFUs: 6 with final test; attendance certificate for all.
