Two new Erc Starting Grants for Sapienza

The European Commission has approved, as part of the Erc Starting Grant 2021 call, two projects presented by Principal Investigators of our University. The NANOWHYR project presented by Marta De Luca of the Department of Physics and the HYQUAKE project presented by Marco Scuderi of the Department of Earth Sciences obtained the two 1.5 million euro grants. This award comes just a short time after Sapienza approved the Regulation that provides incentives for researchers coordinating very high-profile projects funded by the European Union or by the Italian Ministry of University and Research

The Erc - European Research Council, the European Union body that finances researchers of excellence, has approved, as part of the Starting Grant 2021 call, two projects presented by Principal Investigators of Sapienza in the "Physical Sciences and Engineering" category. The two 1.5 million euro Starting Grants, reserved for high-profile, experienced researchers, were received by the NANOWHYR projects presented by Marta De Luca, a lecturer in the Department of Physics, and HYQUAKE presented by Marco Scuderi, a researcher in the Department of Earth Sciences, with Sapienza as the Hosting Institution.
