
UniStem Day: the endless journey of scientific research
On Friday, March 14, Sapienza University of Rome in collaboration with Sapienza's School of Advanced Studies (SSAS), the Pasteur-Italy Institute and Università Statale di Milano, together with other universities and research institutes, once again organised to Europe's largest science popularisation event for secondary school students.
Born in 2009 in Milan from an idea of Elena Cattaneo, professor at the Università Statale di Milano and senator for life, the event confirms its international dimension with the involvement of universities and research centres from 12 countries: Australia, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Norway, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom. Some 30,000 students were involved in the event.
This year's theme is: freedom in the academic work and is dedicated to Giulio Regeni, the postgraduate Italian student kidnapped and murdered in Egypt in 2016.
