IINNOVATION IN IMMUNO-MEDIATED AND HEMATOLOGICAL DISORDERS
The international PhD Program in "Innovation in immuno-mediated and hematological disorders" aims at promoting the transfer of the knowledge in the field of immunology and hematology from basic to clinical research. It will rely on experimental integrated and innovative experimental approaches and scientific collaborations with international research institutes and Universities, both in Europe and in the USA. The "Innovation in Immunology and Immunopathology" curriculum focuses on the study of molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying in innate and adaptive immunity in both physiological and pathological conditions, such as autoimmune and inflammatory diseases and primary immunodeficiencies. Particular attention will be paid on the knowledge of innate and adaptive immune responses involved in the mechanisms of resistance to micro-organisms and tumors. The "Innovation in Hematology" curriculum explores the different biological aspects of hematological pathologies in children and in adults, with a particular focus on a more detailed characterization of hemopathological malignancies (including leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma) and on the diagnosis and therapy by the use of innovative technologies and strategies.
