The Ministry of University and Research has published the Italy-Tunisia call for joint R&I actions to support research projects, mobility and training of scholars and researchers, access to infrastructure and strengthening of innovation ecosystems – deadline September 1, 2025 12:00 CEST.
Project proposals must carry out joint activities (up to a maximum of two types of activities) in accordance with the following: 1) fundamental research and/or industrial research; 2) individual mobility of students, lecturers and researchers; 3) higher education and training activities; 4) innovation ecosystems
The priority thematic areas are: Agri-Tech, including Health and Food security; ICT applications; Sustainable Blue Economy; Energy Security; Advanced Manufacturing; Cultural Heritage.
Sapienza as leader
Step 1
The call for proposals foresees that each Institution (therefore also Sapienza) shall participate with only one project proposal as Lead Partner (art. 3.6 of the supplementary notice in Italian), therefore in order to coordinate Sapienza proposals, lecturers interested in submitting a proposal of which Sapienza is the Lead Partner, must fill in the appropriate FORM by July7, 2025 at 11.59 a.m.
Proposals will be evaluated by a University Commission, appointed by the Magnifica Rettrice, on the basis of the criteria indicated in the Call for Proposals.
Step 2
Following notification by the Scientific Cooperation and Networks Unit, the successful project applicant must download and complete the documents required by the call
In particular:
- Italy-Tunisia proposal template;
- the schema di disciplinare (which must be signed by the Legal Representative, Rector);
- the capitolato (which may be signed by the Scientific Director of the proposal, whose CV must be attached at the end of the specifications).
Within three weeks of the call deadline, the above-mentioned documents, duly completed, must be sent to cooperazionepvs@uniroma1.it together with the following documents (templates on the Downloads section)
- project concept notes;
- project budget;
- letter of indemnity, signed by Department Director, countersigned by the Chief departmental administrative officer (RAD), confirming the Department's willingness to cover the co-financing costs and all other charges deriving from the possible financing
Step 3:
Once the documentation signed by the Rector has been received from the Scientific Cooperation and Networks Unit, the lecturer can upload it to the ministerial portal. Once the application process is complete, the portal will generate the 'funding application', which must also be signed by the institution's legal representative and uploaded to the platform.
Therefore, to allow sufficient time for the Rector to sign it, it is advisable to submit your application well in advance of the closing date for applications.
