IUPALS - (Italian Universities for Palestinian Students)
IUPALS (Italian Universities for Palestinian Students) is a project overseen by CRUI (the Conference of Italian University Rectors) and involving the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of University and Research and the Consulate General of Italy in Jerusalem. Its purpose is to provide scholarships that will allow students residing in the Palestinian Territories to pursue their studies in Italy, beginning with the 2025/2026 academic year.

What the scholarship includes: exemption from university fees, accommodation, meals, health insurance costs.
Application deadline: June 30, 2025
Degree programs taught in English for which applications can be submitted:
• Classics (Bachelor's Degree L-10) - Faculty of Arts and Humanities
• Global Humanities (Bachelor's Degree L-42) - Faculty of Arts and Humanities
• Business Sciences (Bachelor's Degree L-18) - Faculty of Economics
• Economics and Finance (Bachelor's Degree L-33) - Faculty of Economics
How to participate in the call for applications - deadline June 30, 2025
STEP 1 - Submit your application through the Universitaly portal
What you need:
- Valid passport
- Passport-size photograph
- Upper secondary school diploma
- Transcript of grades
STEP 2 - Register on Infostud (Sapienza's student career management system) How to do it: Go to the website https://www.studenti.uniroma1.it/webapps/infostud/registrazione#/ register and note down your student ID number.
STEP 3 - Send an email to dirittoallostudio@uniroma1.it
What to do: Send an email with the subject "IUPALS - student ID number - name and surname" and attach:
- Valid passport
- Upper secondary school diploma
- Transcript of grades
- English Language Certification (at least B2 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Language skills)
STEP 4 - Wait for the publication of the ranking list (by the end of July 2025)

What to do if you are awarded the IUPALS scholarship
STEP 1 Wait to receive the email that informs you that you have been awarded the scholarship and reply to confirm you accept it
STEP 2 Once you have obtained the entry visa for study purposes issued by the Italian Consulate General in Jerusalem, send it as an attachment to dirittoallostudio@uniroma1.it in an email with the subject line: "IUPALS - student ID - first name and last name - visa"
STEP 3 - to be completed within 8 days of your arrival in Italy.
Send an email with the subject "IUPALS - student ID number - name and surname - permesso di soggiorno" and attach:
- copy of the receipts for the application for the first residence permit for study purposes. The appointment request for the issuance of the residence permit must be done within 8 days of your arrival in Italy at any post office.
