Societal Challenges
Societal Challenges adopts a problem-resolution approach and has the objective of uniting resources and knowledge in a variety of disciplines and technologies. Funds are provided for a wide range of disciplines; in particular, two-year work programmes for societal challenges addressed through cooperative research calls in the following areas:
- Health, Demographic Change and Wellbeing
- Food Security, Sustainable Agriculture and Forestry, Marine, Maritime and Inland Water Research and the Bio-economy
- Secure, Clean and Efficient Energy
- Smart, Green and Integrated Transport
- Climate Action, Environment, Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials
- Europe in a changing world - Inclusive, innovative and reflective societies
- Secure societies – Protecting freedom and security of Europe and its citizens
The Grant Office provides administrative and management competences for the following activities:
- Pre-feasibility evaluation
- Support for drafting proposals
- Creation of partnerships
- Project management
