Hong Kong PhD Fellowship 2024/2025
The College of Engineering now invites applications for admission to PhD programmes at City University of Hong Kong (CityU) through the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme in 2024/25.
Each fellowship recipient will receive the following for three years:
- A yearly stipend of HK$331,200 (approximately US$42,46); and
- A conference and research-related travel allowance of HK$13,800 (approximately US$1,760) per year.
Applicants seeking admission to PhD studies at CityU should satisfy the following minimum entrance requirements:
- Hold a higher degree by research (or equivalent qualification) from a recognised university; or
- Hold a taught Master’s degree (or equivalent qualification) from a recognised university; or
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree with first class honours (or equivalent qualification) from a recognised university.
English Proficiency Requirements Applicants from an institution where the language of teaching is not English should satisfy the following minimum English proficiency requirements:
- a total score of 79 (in one single internet-based test) in TOEFL; or
- an overall band score of 6.5 in IELTS TOEFL and IELTS scores are considered valid for two years from the test date and must be valid at the time of submission of application
Applications to the Fellowship Scheme are invited from 1 September 2023 – 1 December 2023.
Applicants are required to submit online applications to both Research Grants Council (RGC) and CityU.
