Art. 38 - ACADEMIC SYSTEM SWITCH

1.    Only to programmes under Ministerial Decree 270/04. The academic system switch envisages different procedures based on the academic system of the programme of origin and on the requirements and admission methods envisaged for the programme of destination. The academic system switch can only be made to Ministerial Decree 270/04 programmes. The change to Ministerial Decree 270/04 programmes and the relative recognition of credits is carried out on the basis of special conversion tables prepared by the Faculties.

2.   Operational methods. Those applying for an academic system switch must:

-      enrol for the 2024-2025 academic year in the old programme by paying the first instalment by November 5, 2024;

-      submit by November 5, 2024, and only after having paid the first instalment of tuition fees, an application with stamp duty for an academic system switch (indicating the academic system of origin and that of destination), to which the study plan (if applicable) must be attached.

The application must be submitted by means of a ticket addressed to your Student Affairs Office by connecting to the link tts.uniroma1.it/otrs/customer.pl and filling in the form available in the "Cambio di ordinamento" service ("Academic system switch"). Before sending the application, make sure that your identity document is available on Infostud, in the "Profile>Personal documents" section.

3.    Conversion of exams. The Degree Programme Board examines the individual positions and students who have submitted the application view the conversion hypothesis and express their consent or dissent. In the event of consent, the Student Affairs Office, having obtained the Faculty's resolutions, provides for the academic system switch.

4.    Limitations for restricted access programmes. For restricted access programmes, an academic system switch is only possible if you have at least 40 credits for enrolment in the second year of three-year bachelor's degrees and at least 200 credits (180+20) for enrolment in the second year of two-year master's degrees, after obtaining a bachelor's degree, unless otherwise provided for by the educational bodies.

5.    Limitations for non-restricted access master's degrees. Students wishing to apply for an academic system switch in a non-restricted access Master's degree must follow the rules set out in Article 8 of these Regulations.

6.    Payments. The academic system switch to a degree programme which is the direct transformation of the programme in which the student is enrolled is free of charge. In all other cases, a degree programme change is de facto constituted, so it will be necessary to pay €65 for the transfer fees.

7.    Incompatibility with part-time learning. It is not possible to submit, within the same academic year, a request for part-time learning (Art. 50) and a request for an academic system switch.
