Art. 6 - ACCESS TO COURSES FOR TRANSFER FROM ANOTHER SAPIENZA DEGREE PROGRAMME WITH CREDIT RECOGNITION

 

1. Requirements and terms

You can transfer to another Sapienza degree programme, requesting recognition of the exams taken in your previous programme, if:

- you are enrolled in years after the first;

- you are up to date with your enrolment fee payments;

- you meet the admission requirements for the destination programme, as indicated in the call for applications that regulates admission to the programme.

Please note that:

A. if you wish to change programmes without requesting recognition of exams taken, you may withdraw your enrolment in accordance with the procedures set out in Article 32 and re-enrol in accordance with the admission procedures set out in the call for applications regulating admission to the programme you have chosen.

B. You cannot transfer from a three-year degree programme to a two-year second level degree programme.

C. If you wish to opt for part-time study (Article 30), you may submit your application from the year after the transfer.

D. From the date of submission of the transfer application, you cannot take exams in your previous programme. Following the transfer, you can take the exams for the new programme starting from the first session scheduled for first-year students in the academic year 2025-2026 (end of the first term/semester).

 

2. Procedures

The transfer procedure varies depending on the admission requirements for the destination programme:

A. For three-year degree programmes and/or single-cycle programmes with or without scheduled admission, you must:

- check the information regarding programme transfers specified in the destination programme's call for applications;

- submit your application following the procedures specified on the page https://www.uniroma1.it/it/node/28758

- pay the transfer fees by the deadline specified in the call for applications for the destination programme;

- pay the first instalment of the enrolment fees by the deadline specified in the call for applications for the destination programme, if not already paid in the programme of origin.

B. For two-year second level degree programmes with assessment of requirements and personal knowledge evaluation, you must:

- Request assessment of requirements by following the instructions and deadlines indicated in the notice published in the “Enrolment” section of the destination programme, in the programmes catalogue https://corsidilaurea.uniroma1.it/

- pay the first instalment of the enrolment fees for the programme of origin by the deadline of 6 November 2025;

- submit your application following the procedures specified on the page https://www.uniroma1.it/it/node/28758. The application must be submitted by 18 December 2025, after paying the €10 fee to access the requirements assessment.

C. For second level two-year degree programmes with scheduled admission, you must:

- meet the curricular requirements for the destination degree programme;

- pass the selection procedure by achieving a suitable position in the ranking;

- pay the transfer fees by the deadline specified in the destination programme call for applications;

- pay the first instalment of the enrolment fees by the deadline specified in the call for applications for the destination programme, if not already paid in the programme of origin.

After submitting your application, the administrative office of your programme of origin will issue a payment slip for the transfer fees (the fee is also due for transfers between programmes or centres belonging to the same Faculty): the payment slip will be available on Infostud under “Bollettini>Bollettini generati” (Payment slips>Generated payment slips).

After paying the transfer fees, you can pay the first instalment of the enrolment fees for the new degree programme (if you have not already paid it for the course of origin). If the payment slip for the first instalment does not show the details of the new degree programme, before paying you must email a copy of the receipt for the payment of 65 euros to the Student Administration Office of the destination degree programme. The Administration Office will issue the payment slip for the first instalment for the new programme.

3. Deadlines

Below are the deadlines for:

- submitting the transfer application and paying the transfer fees;

- paying the first instalment of the enrolment fees;

- withdrawing your application.

A. You must submit your application and pay the transfer fees by the deadline specified in the call for applications/notice regulating the programme admission procedures.

B. You may withdraw your transfer application within 7 days of submission by sending an email to the same administrative offices to which you sent your transfer application.

Withdrawal does not entitle you to a refund of the transfer fees.

C. The first instalment of the enrolment fees must be paid by 6 November 2025. For programmes with scheduled admission, the first instalment must be paid by the deadline specified in the call for applications. For second level degree programmes that do not have scheduled admission, the first instalment must be paid by the deadline specified in Article 3. If the €65 transfer fee has not been paid by these dates, the first instalment will be paid to the original programme and then automatically transferred to the new programme, subject to any adjustments.

 

4. Costs

You will be required to pay: €65 for transfer fees, the first instalment of your programme enrolment fee, the regional tax of €140, the stamp duty of €16 and any adjustments.

Please note: following the assessment of your academic career and the decision taken by the teaching departments, regardless of the number of credits validated, in the event of a change in the year of the programme and the contribution bracket to which the new programme belongs,the system may produce an adjustment to the amount of the enrolment fees, which will be applied to subsequent instalments.

Any adjustment will be visible on Infostud. No further notification will be provided in this regard.

 

5. Recognition of credits and criteria for assessment of applications

With regard to your educational background, the Board of the destination programme:

- may choose to assess your entire educational background or only part of it;

- may validate some or all of the exams you have taken;

- may shorten the duration of the programme and specify the year of enrolment in relation to the number of credits recognised;

- formulates the educational programme.

Please note that:

A. It is not possible to request changes to the decision on the recognition of exams and admission to the programme year, either in the same academic year or in subsequent years;

B. for degree programmes with scheduled admission, the Board also assesses the availability of places in the year of enrolment based on the reinstatement of the student's academic career; if no places are available, the transfer request cannot be accepted;

C. for second level two-year degree programmes with assessment of requirements and personal knowledge evaluation, the Board assesses whether the curricular requirements are met and whether the personal knowledge evaluation is adequate. If the curricular requirements and/or personal knowledge level are not met, the transfer request cannot be accepted;

D. for second level two-year degree programmes, the following cannot be considered recognisable:

- credits acquired to obtain the qualification necessary for enrolment in the second level degree programme;

- credits acquired to obtain the curricular requirements necessary for enrolment in the second level degree programme.
