Services for Students with Learning Difficulties
Page translated into easy-to-read format
Sapienza supports students with Specific Learning Difficulties. Sapienza promotes activities and services to help you attend your lessons and study as best as possible.
Sign up for the service
First of all, you must be a Sapienza student. Next, you need to add that you have a Specific Learning Difficulty to your Infostud profile. If you included this information during the
admission tests, you do not need to include it again. Then, sign up with the Service for Students with Disabilities.
If you are an international student, from within the European Union or from outside the European Union, you must provide a certificate confirming your disability.
This certificate, issued in the country where you live, must be accompanied by a sworn translation in Italian or English. A sworn translation is an official translation of a document that is legally binding. This is performed by a certified professional who swears before a court or notary that the translation is accurate and true to the original.

How can you apply for it: send an email for each exam to servizio.dsa@uniroma1.it. The subject must be this: Personalised test request for the “exam name” of “exam date”. In the ‘exam name’ field, you must enter the name of the exam you are sitting. In the ‘exam date’ field, you must enter the date of the exam you are sitting.

Please note: if you don't give 10 to 15 (working) days' notice, our office cannot take over your request and lecturers will not be obliged to give you a customised test for the exam you have asked for.
Additional Exam Dates
Sapienza offers additional exam dates to students with disabilities and Specific learning difficulties. Please, contact us for more information.
Peer tutors
The peer tutor is an older student who can help you.The tutor cannot give academic support. Only lecturers can do this.
Students with learning difficulties can meet their tutor only at the university.
These meetings must be for study purposes only.
The peer tutor can do different things, depending on your needs:
-
They can help you read and write for exams and entrance tests.
-
They can help you study, in person or online.
-
They can give you guidance about university life.
To request the service, please contact us .
Request for digital copies of your textbooks
If you are a student with a Specific Learning Difficulty (SLD), you can ask for a digital copy of your textbook if your difficulty makes it hard for you to read printed books, compared to someone without this difficulty.
In cases you have a different kind of SLD, you can request the digital copy only after you purchased the printed copy.
In such cases, the Unit for Student with Disabilities and Specific learning difficulties will help you get the corresponding digital copy with the publisher.
To request your textbook you must complete this form in full. The Unit for Student with Disabilities and Specific learning difficulties will assess your request.
Remember: you must ask for your textbooks before your exams.
For first-semester exams, send your request in September or October.
For second-semester exams, send your request in February or March.
Please, communicate any changes to: servizio.dsa@uniroma1.it
