Art. 45 - STUDENT CAREER INTERRUPTION FOR ONE YEAR

1.    Requirements. The following students may interrupt their student career for an entire academic year, provided they are enrolled on a full-time basis

a) students with serious and prolonged infirmities, duly certified (art. 9 paragraph 4 of Legislative Decree no. 68 of March 29, 2012);

b) pregnant students;

c) students during the first year of birth/adoption of a son or daughter (Academic Senate resolution of October 12, 2021).

Student-athletes enrolled full-time within the second year fuoricorso may also apply for a student career interruption.

2.    Application submission. The application with stamp duty must be submitted between September 1, and November 5, 2024, attaching appropriate documentation proving the right to interruption. The application must be sent by means of a ticket addressed to your Student Affairs Office by connecting to the link tts.uniroma1.it/otrs/customer.pl and filling in the form at Career interruption for one year (“Interruzione della carriera per un anno”) Before sending the application, it is necessary to check on Infostud that your valid identity document has been uploaded (section "Profile>Personal documents").

The student career break is ordered by January 31, 2025.

The Student Affairs Office will, upon request, provide a copy of the career break order.

3.    Limitations. No more than two student career interruptions are permitted within each cycle of degree programme. The request for a career interruption is made in lieu of enrolment and is not revocable during the academic year.

4.    Exams and student career related activities. Those who use the student career interruption must not take exams in the academic year relating to the request, under penalty of having them cancelled, nor may they carry out any student career activities. The year of interruption is not counted for the purposes of the deadline for obtaining the qualification nor for the purposes of determining fuoricorso years.

5.    Certificates. During the same period, it is possible to apply for student career certificates. These will state the period of the career interruption and the details of the measure by which it was ordered. To protect privacy, no mention of the reason for the career interruption is made on the certificates or other student career documents.

6.    Student career resumption. When resuming a university career, a ‘fixed fee’ for the year of the career interruption, amounting to €290, must be paid - within the deadlines set for the first instalment of tuition fees. As a fixed fee, this amount is not related to the amount of the first instalment due for the degree programme in the year in which the career interruption is requested. The Student Affairs Office, upon request, will produce on Infostud the amount to be paid.

The request must be sent by email, from your institutional email address, using the Application/Request ("Domanda/Istanza") form, published on the Student Forms page, Downloads section.
