Regulation for Principal Investigators
Sapienza recently issued the new Regulations for incentivising Principal Investigators of national and international projects of excellence.
These regulations provide incentives for Principal Investigators (PIs) who have secured projects with Sapienza as the Host Institution (HI) and which are funded by high-quality research programmes promoted by the EU or the MUR. In particular, they include PIs of projects selected within the framework of:
- European Research Council (ERC) funding programmes such as Starting (StG), Consolidator (CoG), Advanced (AdG) and Synergy (SyG);
- Marie Skłodowska Curie Actions (MSCA), and in particular the winners of Postdoctoral Fellowships;
- Rita Levi Montalcini Programme Fellowships, (LM - in Italian);
- Fondo Italiano per la Scienza (FIS - in Italian), as per MUR Decree 2281/2021.
Please visit the Italian version of this page for all information and details.
The Regulations also provide incentives to increase the number of applications for projects of excellence at Sapienza, particularly through the following actions set out in the 'Sapiexcellence' programme:
- BE-FOR-ERC, for fixed-term researchers of excellence wishing to strengthen their skills and CVs to apply for the ERC Starting and Consolidator Grant calls, with Sapienza as Hosting Institution;
- SEED, for PIs of ERC Starting and Consolidator Grant proposals not funded, even if admitted to step 2 of the assessment;
- SEAL, for MSCA proposals considered worthy of the seal of excellence award, even if not funded;
- ADD, for researchers of MSCA projects already approved by the European Commission and recently concluded or about to be concluded.
