Regulation for Principal Investigators

Regulation to encourage Principal Investigators of programmes of excellence promoted by the EU or MUR has been published

Sapienza recently issued the new Regulations for incentivising Principal Investigators of national and international projects of excellence.

These regulations provide incentives for Principal Investigators (PIs) who have secured projects with Sapienza as the Host Institution (HI) and which are funded by high-quality research programmes promoted by the EU or the MUR.  In particular, they include PIs of projects selected within the framework of:

The Regulations also provide incentives to increase the number of applications for projects of excellence at Sapienza, particularly through the following actions set out in the 'Sapiexcellence' programme:

  • BE-FOR-ERC, for fixed-term researchers of excellence wishing to strengthen their skills and CVs to apply for the ERC Starting and Consolidator Grant calls, with Sapienza as Hosting Institution;
  • SEED, for PIs of ERC Starting and Consolidator Grant proposals not funded, even if admitted to step 2 of the assessment;
  • SEAL, for MSCA proposals considered worthy of the seal of excellence award, even if not funded;
  • ADD, for researchers of MSCA projects already approved by the European Commission and recently concluded or about to be concluded.
