«Students have inviolable rights, regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, race, nationality, religious belief, political conviction, personal and social conditions, and equal dignity compared to all the other members of the community. The university guarantees the integration of all the members of its community without any distinction or discrimination. »

This is article 6 of Sapienza : nothing else can be added to convey the essence and purpose of this document. The other articles are nothing less.

The Student Charter of Rights and Duties was approved by the Academic Senate by Resolution No. 244 of October 15, 2019 and issued by Rector’s Decree No. 3862/2019, registered under No. 0108807 on December 6, 2019. Following the adoption of the Charter, the Regulations governing Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes were also amended, particularly with regard to provisions on degree applications, transparency and information disclosure, and examinations.

In 2026, the Charter was supplemented by the Declaration of Disciplinary Offences and Related Sanctions for Students, approved by the Academic Senate at its meeting of April 9, 2026 and implemented through Rector’s Decree No. 912/2026 of April 30, 2026.
