Marco Polo Security Service coordinates services and logistics in the Marco Polo Building, supervises and checks the efficiency of the information systems and structures and guarantees a good security level within the building by assisting the Safety and Security team.

The Marco Polo Security Service has responsibility for the following functions:

• Reception and Information service;
• Managing “Gomp”, our lecture room booking system, in the Marco Polo and “Ex Vetreria Sciarra” buildings;
• Lost Property;
• Post&Mail and Sorting Office;
• Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures;
• Monitoring and managing a proper Sustainable Energy policy;
• Checking the efficiency of the information systems and structures;
• Managing the logistics related to extracurricular activities inside and outside the building (i.e. exhibitions, concerts, shows, conferences etc…) in cooperation with the “Centri Spesa”;
• Promoting an effective Safe&Security policy;
• Ensuring the security of University goods and property and the prevention of theft, security breach, acts of vandalism, and sabotage;
• Access control and vehicle and parking monitoring;
• Real-time internal and external monitoring of structural integrity;
• Ensuring compliance with the opening and closing times.
