CASSINI Hackathons 2023: a marathon of new ideas for Earth observation
Registration for the Cassini Hackathon 2023, the new edition of the annual marathon all about innovation in space and Earth observation technologies, is now open. Deadline March 17.
Software developers, hackers, designers, engineers, innovators, and aspiring start-up creators can participate in the hackathon. European space technologies will be used to create new products or services that can positively impact Europe's security and defence, such as enhancing cross-terrain mobility, maritime security and critical infrastructure protection. This a unique opportunity to build your team, train on space technologies, meet experts and design new solutions.
Cassini Hackathon 2023 is organised by Planetek and Sprint Lab, in collaboration with Sapienza University of Rome, Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro and Politecnico di Bari, Φ-lab ESA - European Space Agency, Italian Space Agency, Aerospace Technology District, AIKO - Autonomous Space Missions, D-Orbit, Latitudo 40 , negg, OnData, OVH, Primo Ventures - Primo Space, Planetek Hellas, Women in Aerospace Europe, Master Italy, Fondazione Vincenzo Casillo, ITS Logistica Puglia, Programma Sviluppo, Gruppo Megamark, Hula Hawaiian Poke. The event is part of the European Union's Copernicus Earth observation programme.
Sapienza University is actively collaborating in connection with the National PhD in Earth Observation, coordinated by Mattia Crespi of the Department of Civil, Building and Environmental Engineering.
The competition will end on March 24-26 at the Fiera del Levante in Bari, Italy, with the final round and the award ceremony.
