Christmas and togetherness at Sapienza
On Tuesday December 12, Rector Antonella Polimeni and Director General Simonetta Ranalli took part in the traditional Christmas tree lighting ceremony intended as a symbolic appointment to share the values represented by the end-of-year festivities within Sapienza community. MuSa orchestras contributed with live Christmas carols.
This year, on December 11 and 12, Sapienza opened its space to the community by setting up a Christmas charity market along the pedestrian avenue in front of the Minerva Square. The Main Campus hosted stands reserved for non-profit organisations and associations working to promote solidarity, culture of research and the fight against gender-based violence.
Sapienza students also collected toys for the children currently hospitalised at the Policlinico Umberto I General Hospital, while the Community of Sant'Egidio collected Christmas sweets for the children of Sant'Egidio Peace Schools.
