Congratulations to Caterina Banti on her Olympic gold medal

Sapienza graduate Caterina Banti wins gold in sailing at Paris 2024 Olympics

Caterina Banti, paired with Ruggero Tita, triumphed in the Paris 2024 Olympics in the Nacra 17 class, a sailing discipline, winning gold.
Caterina has an impressive palmares: a gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, two golds and a bronze at the Nacra 17 World Championships, four gold medals at the European Championships. A Bachelor's degree from Sapienza University and a Master's degree from the Orientale University of Naples, both with top marks, Caterina shared her experience as a student and athlete in an interview in the first issue of Sapienza Magazine.

In addition to congratulating Caterina, the Sapienza community is proud of all Sapienza student athletes who participated in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games: Virginia Menicucci and Giulia di Innocenzo in swimming, Marta Iacovacci and Isotta Sportelli in artistic swimming, Lorenzo Benati in athletics.  
The Olympics embody universal values such as excellence, perseverance and loyalty. They are a time when athletes from all over the world come together to celebrate healthy competition and friendship between nations, fundamental values shared by the university institution.
