
Ernesto Monaci 1918 - 2018. The scholar over time
Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st January at the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei in via della Lungara, two days will be dedicated to Ernesto Monaci in which will be deepened the contribution offered by the philologist and literary critic to the culture of the united Italy and to the formation of the school system
Ernesto Monaci was the founder of the Roman schools of Romance Philology and Paleography and of the Italian Historical Institute. He was rector of Sapienza University and partner Linceo. The cornerstone of the development of post-unification Italy, has formed intellectuals that are a fundamental part of our culture, having among its students also Luigi Pirandello.
During the conference there will be two exhibitions that will take place at the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei and at the Italian Historical Institute for the Middle Ages and the Capitoline Historical Archive; the exhibitions will be inaugurated on January 30 and 31.
