Free eye examinations and glasses for students

Until July 5, the OneSight EssilorLuxottica Italia Foundation and Iapb Italia onlus Campus visivo will be on Sapienza's Main Campus to promote the wellbeing of our student community

Monday June 10 saw the launch of Campus visivo, the vision prevention initiative promoted by OneSight EssilorLuxottica Italia Foundation and the Agenzia internazionale per la prevenzione della cecità - Iapb Italia onlus, in collaboration with Sapienza University of Rome, which offers our students the opportunity to undergo free eye examinations and, if necessary, receive prescription glasses, also free of charge. An original, innovative and highly visible mobile clinic, located in the heart of Rome's Main Campus and accessible from Piazzale Aldo Moro, welcomes over 80 students a day, with a total of over 1,600 examinations expected during the 20 days of the initiative, which began on June 10 and will end on July 5.

The Campus visivo free eye examinations are aimed at students with an Isee of 10,000 euros or less, who can book them online. The project, carried out under a framework agreement between the Department of Sense Organs of Sapienza University, OneSight EssilorLuxottica Italia Foundation and the Agenzia internazionale per la prevenzione della cecitàs - Iapb Italia onlus, aims to intervene significantly in the visual problems of the university community, starting with basic visual health, by providing accessible and high quality services. 

The programme involves the daily presence of a team of ophthalmologists, orthoptists, opticians and specialised staff, coordinated by Alessandro Lambiase, Professor of Ophthalmology and Director of the School of Specialisation in Ophthalmology of Sapienza University of Rome, from Monday to Friday, from 9.00 am to 4:30 pm.
