The Free University of Brussels Joins the Transnational Campus
On Saturday, September 15, Sapienza Rector Eugenio Gaudio met in Brussels with the Rectors of the main universities that are participating in the project for the first Consortium of Mediterranean and European Universities.
The project was initiated in 2017 by Sapienza together with the Universities of Aix de Marseille, Barcelona and Madrid. Subsequently, the Universities of Tubingen and Athens also joined the consortium. The Brussels meeting was convened to strengthen the project and examine the application made by the Free University of Brussels to join the project.
The aim of the project is to promote student mobility by increasing the number of joint degrees, promote reciprocal collaboration on European programmes, kick off coordinated research efforts and organise inter-university summer schools. The consortium agreement is based on the intensification of relations between consortium partners to establish the areas of excellence and issues in which each university excels and step up each partner’s potential to multiply the potential of all the other consortium partners.
