On Wednesday, March 25, 2020, the Educational section of the Associazione degli Italianisti will organise a reading event for secondary schools and universities which will be involved online. The topic: the XXVI canto from Dante's Inferno and Ulysse's story in particular. The event, promoted by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, is part of the first “Dantedì” initiative, the official day dedicated to Dante Alighieri recently established by the Government. Why this specific day? Because scholars consider March the 25th the beginning of Dante's otherworldly journey in the Divina Commedia.

We exhort our university community to ideally share this reading event with students and citizens. This initiative is not only a chance to rediscover Dante but also an opportunity to reconnect with each other through poetry, at such a complex time.
