One by One. An exhibition on the walls that divide the world
Thursday, May 13, from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm, the Nomas Foundation will inaugurate the exhibition One by One by the artist Filippo Berta, promoted by the Department of Social Sciences and Economics of Sapienza. The exposition focuses on the phenomenon of walls, a geopolitical figure of the 21st century. A ghost that is still present thirty years after the fall of the Berlin Wall.
Between 2019 and 2020, Filippo Berta crossed Eastern Europe (Hungary, Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Turkey, North Macedonia, Greece, Bulgaria), to arrive in America (the United States and Mexico), and finally in Asia (South Korea), making video footage and participatory actions with the involvement of the inhabitants of the border areas, asking them to count aloud, and in their own language, the thorns that make up the fence wires. The exhibition narrates this collective action through a multi-channel video installation.
