From September 30 to October 1, from 6:30 pm to 11:30 pm, the Città dell'Altra Economia in Rome (Testaccio district "ex Mattatoio") will be hosting the European Researchers' Night 2022. Sapienza University will be participating in "Scienza Insieme NET"

A large delegation from various Sapienza departments of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics, and Natural Sciences will be presenting seminars, talks, hands-on labs, games and experiments about numerous frontiers research topics of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Earth Sciences. There will also be an Escape Room on elementary particle physics.

This edition's main goal will be to bring citizens closer to understanding the scientific method, to promote in society the value of the researcher's work and the rigour with which science investigates reality and often finds solutions to the most complex challenges.

The main themes guiding the activities will be the most topical ones, at the heart of the European agenda and the Horizon Europe programme within which the event takes place. Dozens of events will focus on the climate emergency, health, the circular economy, new technologies, protection of the sea and land, and space challenges.

The two-night event will also be covering the role of women in the history of science: the symbolic patroness will be Marie Sklodowska Curie, an example of talent and genius, winner of two Nobel Prizes for Physics and Chemistry, and an inspirational figure for girls approaching scientific careers.

Access to the event is free and open to everyone.
