
Sapienza is a Founding Partner of the Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines
The Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines (I-RIM) is a non-profit association that brings together all Italian robotics and intelligent machines experts to promote the development and use of interaction technology that will benefit citizens and society. Sapienza will be represented by Prof. Alessandro De Luca from the Department of Computer, Control and Management Engineering, who will sit on the Institute’s board of directors.
The new institute will be presented to the public over the three-day event that will be held at the Rome’s New Fair on October 18-20, 2019 (Pavilions 9-10). The calendar includes meetings for associates, but also open events organised in collaboration with the Maker Faire – The European Edition 2019, which attracts thousands of technology enthusiasts.
Moreover, there will also be the first edition of the Italian Conference on Robotics and Intelligent Machines dedicated to the dissemination of excellence-level research in Italy to promote product and application developers and showcase the most recent breakthroughs in these fields. Presentation will have a clear and comprehensible cut to allow anyone to participate. The conference is organized by Prof. Alessandro De Luca from Sapienza as General Chair, Barbara Caputo from the Italian Institute of Technology, Cecilia Laschi from the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and Domenico Prattichizzo from the University of Siena as Programme Chairs.
