On Friday, March 15, at 1:00 pm, university and high school students, together with the entire Sapienza community, will meet on the university lawn to discuss the many issues related to climactic change and the exploitation of the earth’s resources. Global warming, aridity and floods, waste management … we no longer have any time to dally. We must find definitive solutions to safeguard the climate.

Sapienza University welcomes the call of students and enthusiastically participates in the Global Strike for Future, the international strike for the climate. The initiative, which is promoted by the “Sapienza in Movimento” Association, is an answer to the plea launched by young Swedish activist Greta Thunberg at the Cop 24 Plenary Session. It iss open to all student associations and to all individuals who believe it is time to act for a more sustainable future.

Globally, emissions are increasing yearly by over 1.5% and we are now producing more than 37 billion tons of CO2 a year, notwithstanding the commitment of some countries, especially in the European Union, that have adopted complete energy decarbonization plans by 2050.
