Sapienza Promotes Safer Roads in Africa

Four students from Cameroon, who have attended a Road Safety Design and Management Course at the Sapienza Faculty of Civil and Industrial Engineering, will pursue these activities in their home country

As part of the Project SaferAfrica, which aims to develop a platform for exchange between Africa and Europe focusing on the management of road safety, Sapienza hosted four students from the Cameroon Ecole Nationale Superièure des Travaux Publics to study road safety at the Faculty of Enginering.

In Cameroon, the students will collaborate with the Road Safety Observatory created by Project SaferAfrica, coordinated by Professor Luca Persia at the Research Centre for Transport and Logistics at Sapienza University. The centre gathers information on road accidents, manages the project’s main results and includes a crowdsourcing platform that allows African citizens to report road issues in their countries and throughout the entire African continent.
